US private equity funds, hedge funds may have to disclose more about finances under SEC rules being considered, Gensler says

The US Securities and Exchange Commission will consider requiring more disclosure from private equity funds, hedge funds and venture capital funds in light of their rapid growth in recent years and their assumption of greater risks such as investments in cryptocurrencies, Chairman Gary Gensler said today.
