US banks to see easing of Volcker Rule's hedge fund curbs in upcoming proposal

US banks would get a loosening of Volcker Rule restrictions on their investments in hedge funds and private equity funds under a federal proposal due to be issued by the end of March, US Comptroller of the Currency Joseph Otting said today.
