Broadcom faces South Korean probe into allegations of unfair contracts with smartphone makers

Broadcom is under investigation by South Korea’s competition regulator over suspicions it forced smartphone manufacturers including Samsung Electronics into signing long-term contracts regarding radio frequency front-end chips, or RFFEs, MLex has learned.

According to sources, the Korea Fair Trade Commission, or KFTC, carried out a dawn raid at Broadcom’s South Korean office back
