Rightly or wrongly, the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation — the bloc’s landmark privacy legislation — is now held up as a global regulatory standard. But does the GDPR live up to the hype? MLex’s data privacy & security team has done a deep dive into the legislation, crunching the numbers to work out the extent to which, four years after their implementation, the rules have delivered on the promise of tougher privacy standards.
