Richard Thompson

Richard is responsible for all editorial and content matters at MLex. He oversees global editorial operations and leads the MLex management team in providing strategic direction for MLex journalists around the world.

An award-winning business news journalist, with nearly three decades of international newsroom experience, Richard believes that high-quality news journalism is vital in a world where disinformation and social media are making it increasingly difficult to know what is really going on.

For lawyers, companies and investors grappling with an increasingly complicated world of business regulations and litigation, Richard’s goal is to ensure that MLex provides its subscribers with an unbeatable supply of accurate, up-to-date and comprehensive news, and forward-looking insight on global regulatory risk.

Richard joined MLex in July 2022 as Director of Global Editorial Operations and was appointed MLex Editor-in-Chief in January 2023. Prior to joining MLex, Richard was Editorial Director at MEED – The Middle East Economic Digest.
