Yandex's taxi app banned from sending Finnish, Norwegian customers' data to Russia ahead of invasive security law

Russian-owned ride-hailing app Yango faces a temporary ban on transferring the personal data of customers in Finland and Norway to Russia over concerns about a new security law that takes effect there next month.
The emergency measure announced by the Finnish and Norwegian privacy watchdogs today (see here) temporarily bans Ridetech

Matthew Newman is a chief correspondent for MLex and writes about data protection, privacy, telecoms, cyber security and artificial intelligence. Matthew began his journalism career in 1991 in community newspapers. He worked as a reporter in Riga, Latvia in 1993 and then moved to Chicago where he covered local news.
