Yahoo $117 million data breach settlement scrutinized in Ninth Circuit hearing

When litigation against Yahoo over a series of data breaches suffered by the once prominent web portal and search engine received final settlement approval from a federal judge in California in 2020, the $117.5 million agreement was a record settlement for a data breach case.
