Woodside Petroleum-BHP Petroleum merger cleared in Japan

The merger between Australian oil producer Woodside Petroleum and BHP’s oil and gas portfolio was approved by the Japan Fair Trade Commission, according to the Japanese regulator’s quarterly merger list published today.

The parties submitted their agreement for review to the Japanese regulator on Feb. 1, and it was approved on Feb.
