WarnerMedia-Discovery deal approved in Japan

US telecom giant AT&T’s plan to spin off WarnerMedia so that it can be combined with Discovery in a new standalone media company, was given the green light in Japan, according to the quarterly merger list published by the Japan Fair Trade Commission.
