Volkswagen nears settlement over data breach in US class action; parallel suit to move forward

German carmaker Volkswagen and a third-party marketing vendor are close to reaching a $3.5 million settlement in a proposed class action over a data breach in the US, but must face a parallel class action over the same incident for now.
