Veolia-Suez deal 'closely followed' by French antitrust regulator, de Silva says

The planned takeover of French water and waste-management company Suez by rival Veolia is being closely tracked by the country's competition watchdog, the head of the authority said today. 

Isabelle de Silva told lawmakers that the regulator is also prepared to work with the European Commission on the deal's impact on local water-management markets.
