US to ease national security tariffs on Japanese steel, not aluminum

The US will replace the national security levy on Japanese steel with a tariff-rate quota system that will allow 1.25 million metric tons of the imports to enter the country annually without the imposition of the 25 percent tariff, the US Trade Representative announced today.
