US carmakers call for clarity in definition of automated driving

A US group that represents major multinational carmakers such as General Motors and BMW raised concerns over confusion regarding different levels of automated driving, and urged that more clarity be provided for the benefit of consumers and policymakers amid similar calls from lawmakers and the industry.
