UK energy market let in high-risk suppliers due to Ofgem's pro-competition approach, report finds

Low capital requirements and minimal financial supervision allowed high-risk energy suppliers to enter the UK market, only to fail when wholesale prices spiked, a new review of energy regulator Ofgem’s regulatory approach has found (see here).
