UK defense ministry’s payroll data breach affects up to 272,000 people, minister confirms

The UK defense ministry's payroll data of as many as 272,000 people could be affected by a breach at an external payment system operator, the government has confirmed. The incident is being assessed by the country's data protection regulator.
