UK antitrust fine over information request was unlawful, BMW tells appeal court judges

Carmaker BMW told appeal judges today that a fine imposed by the UK’s competition watchdog for not complying with an information request in a vehicle-recycling antitrust probe was unlawful. It argued that the regulator didn’t have the legal power to compel foreign companies to produce documents held outside UK jurisdiction.
