Too soon for banks to have dedicated green capital framework, executives say

A dedicated approach to bank capital for green investments is too premature and could have unintended consequences, senior representatives at international lenders said today.

As discussions around the world continue on whether banks should be able to treat green-friendly investments preferentially from a capital perspective — or conversely, hold more capital for “brown” investments
