The regulation of nascent industries can favor incumbents, senior Japanese official warns

Regulating industries or technologies that are burgeoning can be challenging and places authorities at risk of harming the overall progress of innovation by siding with incumbents, according to a senior official with the Japan Fair Trade Commission, or JFTC.
Speaking in an online antitrust symposium*, JFTC Commissioner Reiko Aoki said
