Teams and Zoom banned from schools in German state Hesse

US-owned videoconferencing programs such as Zoom and Microsoft’s Teams will be banned from schools in the German region of Hesse from July 31, due to doubts about the software’s compliance with EU privacy rules, the state data protection authority has said.
