South Korea considers higher fines for privacy violations in revision to privacy act

Businesses will face fines of up to 3 percent of annual global turnover for privacy violations but will see criminal charges against privacy officers scrapped, under a planned revision by South Korea’s privacy regulator to the Personal Information Protection Act, or PIPA.
