Significant US merger investigations decreased in 2022, but 60 percent resulted in litigation or abandonment, Dechert report says

Significant US merger investigations hit a decade low in 2022, but the number of deals that were abandoned or litigated increased dramatically, according to the most recent edition of law firm Dechert's DAMMIT report on merger trends.

Last year saw only 20 “significant” merger investigations, according to the report, which defined a “significant”
