Signal warns UK online safety bill clause ‘eviscerates privacy’ and could force it to quit UK

Messaging service Signal would be "forced to quit" the UK if the government's content-moderation law were to be adopted in its current form, the company's president has warned.
Meredith Whittaker said tech companies were concerned by "possible evisceration of privacy and security" through a backdoor to undermine encrypted services.
