Safran and MBDA file acquisition of laser specialist Cilas for EU review

French aircraft maker Safran and missile manufacturer MBDA have requested EU approval to acquire control of military laser specialist Cilas, according to an update this afternoon on the European Commission's register of deals.
The commission has set an Oct. 14 deadline to decide on the deal.
