Rakuten under JFTC investigation for free-shipping service with potential to abuse vendors

Japan's e-commerce giant Rakuten said today it had received a notification from the Japan Fair Trade Commission that the enforcer has started an investigation into the company's plan to introduce a free shipping service. The basis for the investigation, mentioned in the company statement, is a possible abuse of superior bargaining
