Qantas' move on Australian regional airline Alliance faces significant regulatory headwinds

Qantas Airways’ is facing a showdown with Australia’s competition regulator over its acquisition of a remaining stake in regional airline Alliance Aviation Services, with the watchdog warning today that it had serious reservations about the deal’s impact on passenger routes to remote areas.
