Orange Belgium’s 1.8 billion-euro acquisition of VOO will need EU approval

Orange Belgium’s acquisition of rival telecom operator VOO from Nethys will need the approval of EU merger control authorities, the companies said in a press release today.
The 1.8 billion-euro ($2 billion) takeover is part of Orange Belgium's national “convergent” strategy, merging multiple communications services into a single network.
