Ninth Circuit affirms $90 million Facebook tracking settlement, capping a dozen years of US litigation

In the denouement to a dozen years of litigation over Facebook’s tracking of its users beyond its platform, a US appeals court today affirmed a $90 million settlement as fair and reasonable, rejecting a $1.24 trillion statutory-damages penalty sought by a group of objectors as unreasonable.
