Lear seeks EU approval to buy Kongsberg’s seating business

Lear, the US manufacturer of automotive seating products, has requested EU approval to buy rival Kongsberg Automotive’s “Interior Comfort Systems” business.

The European Commission has set an initial Feb. 28 deadline to decide on the deal.

Lear announced last October that it had agreed to buy the business for 175 million euros
