Instant international payments via cell phone numbers shown to be possible under BIS project

The prospect of instantaneous and inexpensive cross-border payments is edging closer with the results of a successful test that has seen money sent internationally using only cell phone numbers.
The Bank for International Settlements, or BIS, today revealed that it had been able to link up the domestic payments systems
