Industries, airlines face tougher German climate measures as new law kicks in

From energy companies to airlines, businesses operating in Germany face new measures aimed at curbing greenhouse gas emissions from 2020, after the country's first major federal climate law entered into force.

The Climate Protection Act introduces emissions targets for specific sectors and higher taxes on flights, among other measures.
