Idea of UK duties on Chinese electric cars played down as new finance minister talks up trade links

The UK's economy "benefits from trade links around the world, including with China," the country's new finance minister said today, playing down prospects that it might follow the US and EU in imposing hefty tariffs on imports of electric vehicles from China.
The UK was "a small, open trading economy"
