Google, adtech sector should improve privacy and stop ‘excessive’ data uses, UK regulator says

Google and other players in the adtech industry should come up with less data-intensive ways of advertising online, the outgoing chief of the UK's data protection regulator said today.

Elizabeth Denham, who heads the Information Commissioner’s Office, issued a formal opinion today regarding Google and the digital advertising industry, informally known as adtech.
