GlobalWafers-Siltronic deal wins unconditional clearance from Japan after in-depth review

Taiwanese silicon-wafer maker GlobalWafers’ plan to acquire German rival Siltronic won unconditional clearance today from the Japan Fair Trade Commission, after an in-depth review. The Japanese regulator determined that there was sufficient competitive pressure from rivals and new entrants.
This deal, in which GlobalWafers will acquire more than 70 percent
