Former Uber security chief charged with obstruction of justice in alleged data-breach coverup

Federal prosecutors today charged Uber Technologies’ former chief security officer with obstruction of justice for concealing a 2016 data breach from the US Federal Trade Commission, in a rare case in which a tech company officer faces criminal charges for not disclosing a breach to regulators.
