EU winds down special Covid-era subsidy rules

Special rules brought in to allow governments to pump money into pandemic-stricken economies will expire at the end of June, without a further extension, the European Commission has announced.
The "Temporary Framework," which loosened traditional subsidy control to allow for more financial support, had been prolonged several times.
