EU’s carbon border levy should be in place by 2023, France's Le Maire says

An EU levy on polluting carbon-intensive imports should be in place “no later than 2023,” French economy minister Bruno Le Maire has said.

France has long supported the idea of a carbon price adjustment at the EU’s borders, but Le Maire stressed today that its introduction has now become “vital”
