EU may exit Energy Charter Treaty if climate goals not reached soon

Energy investors may see the European Commission propose to withdraw from the Energy Charter Treaty, an international pact with investment-protection provisions, unless the bloc make gains in relation to its climate goals in ongoing negotiations, the EU’s trade chief has said.
