EU countries should be largely free to agree tax deals, legal opinion for bloc's top court says

French electricity giant Engie and the state of Luxembourg should prevail in their fight to overturn court judgments that tax rulings constituted illegal state aid, according to a legal opinion prepared by an advocate general for the EU Court of Justice.
In her non-binding opinion issued today (see here), Juliane Kokott says
