Emergency purchases by Brazilian state of Pará probed for corruption linked to retail group

The purchase of food baskets by the state of Pará during the Covid-19 emergency in Brazil has sparked an investigation into a five-year-old corruption scheme.
The probe has been named "Operation Solercia," and 16 search-and-seizure warrants were carried out yesterday in Pará and São Paulo, federal police said.
