Ease insurers' equity investment rules, says French government

Insurers should face a lower prudential bar to investing in equity, the French finance minister said today.

A review of the EU's Solvency II rules governing the sector should decrease penalties in a bid to boost capital markets, Bruno Le Maire told attendees of an event in Paris.*
