Defendants in Haitian bribery case deserve new US trial due to ineffective counsel, First Circuit says

Two men convicted of Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations in an alleged Haitian bribery scheme must get new trials due to their ineffective defense counsel, the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit ruled yesterday, affirming a trial judge's order for a new trial and rejecting a Justice Department appeal.
