Covid-19 underscores need for US federal privacy law, US FTC's Wilson says

The Covid-19 pandemic has exposed Americans' privacy vulnerabilities due to Congress's failure to pass comprehensive data protection legislation, a member of the US Federal Trade Commission said today, adding that the long-standing privacy principles of “notice and choice” are outmoded.
