Corruption fight hindered by patchwork partnerships, EU’s chief prosecutor says

Countries refusing to join the ranks of the EU’s new public prosecutor risk undermining the bloc-wide fight to combat corruption, its chief has warned today.

Laura Kövesi, head of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, or EPPO, cautioned that a patchwork of partnerships would systematically hinder its ability to counter criminality affecting the EU budget.
