Climate scenarios are part of financial stress tests; no separate climate tests planned, Brainard says

The US Federal Reserve’s financial stress tests include climate stress scenarios, but the Fed has no intention of creating “climate stress tests,” Fed vice chair nominee Lael Brainard told lawmakers today.

“I have not suggested that we should do stress tests for climate,” Brainard told the Senate Banking Committee at her confirmation hearing.
