Cleveland-Cliffs' acquisition of AK Steel receives early US antitrust clearance

Cleveland-Cliffs' $1.1 billion acquisition of AK Steel has received early clearance from the US antitrust waiting period, according to a newly updated list.

The companies announced plans to merge in early December and filed merger paperwork with US antitrust enforcers Jan. 6 (see here). That set up a Feb. 5
