CK Hutchison ruling was 'contrary to the very spirit' of EU merger law, Loriot says

CK Hutchison's success in getting an EU court to strike down a merger veto by the European Commission risks setting the bloc's merger-review policy back decades, a senior official said today.

The judgment by the EU's lower-tier General Court in May (see here) was "contrary to the very spirit" of the 2004
