Civil rights groups warn Congress to halt privacy legislation as House tees up APRA for full vote

Civil rights groups are warning the leadership of the House Energy and Commerce Committee to stop the markup of the American Privacy Rights Act that was announced today because the newly introduced bill strips “key civil rights protections and algorithmic auditing provisions” found in previous versions of the bill.
