Chinese restrictions on gallium, germanium too broad to follow WTO rules, EU Commission says

China’s export restrictions on gallium and germanium — critical rare earth metals used in high-speed computer chips and fiber optics — are too broad to comply with the World Trade Organization’s rules, the European Commission told a closed-door meeting with national trade experts today, MLex has learned.
