China's ride-hailing platforms face clampdown on use of unlicensed drivers and vehicles

China's ride-hailing platforms will face more vigorous enforcement of licensing requirements for vehicles and drivers, according to a notice issued by Ministry of Transport, or MOT, earlier this month. The clampdown, which marks another step by the transport regulator to rein in unchecked growth in the sector, will ban unlicensed vehicles and unqualified
