China's public-data operators ought to face competition, cabinet advisor says

China should subject public-data operators to competition as the world's most populous country envisions the stepped-up use of the data resource to boost its digital economy, according to a senior antitrust advisor to the Chinese cabinet.

"A competitive mechanism should be introduced for the authorized operation of public data," Shi Jianzhong
